The Blue Ridge Chapter ENA (BRENA) welcomes you to 2009!!!! BRENA recognizes the challenges that you face every time you work ( not only do you need to stay current with evidenced-based care guidelines, new equipment, new technologies, and new medications) you have to deal with increasing numbers of patients, over crowding, housing of patients due to no availability of hospital beds and staffing shortages. Each and every day, You, the emergency nurse, showcase your ability to do more with less and still have positive outcomes for your patients. You are required to provide care to all patients, no matter the age, complaint, or ability to pay. Your doors are never closed. It does not matter if it is shift change or someone is at dinner. The patients continue to come for your help. To work in the ED, you must have knowledge and skills to provide the best cost-effective care to optimize outcomes. You work hard and want to make a difference.
